Jhang: Five-month-old baby dies in roof collapse

A minor child was dead when roof of a dilapidated house collapsed in Jhang, Punjab province on late Monday night. 

According to details, the incident occurred in Jhang where roof of a dilapidated house caved in due to recent showers, burying five members of a same family, including a five-month-old child under the debris.

Rescue teams rushed to the spot after being informed and retrieved the dead body of minor child from the rubble and pulled out four others in injured condition.

The dead and injured were moved to hospital. 

Earlier, on June 10, at least 16 people injured when roof of NADRA office collapsed in Mian Channu on Wednesday.

According to details, the incident occurred in Mian Channu where roof of a National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office caved in, burying 16 people under the debris.

Sources informed that a large number of people were present in NADRA office when roof collapsed.

After being informed, rescue teams reached the spot and pulled out 10 people in injured condition who were later moved to hospital for medical aid. 

Rescue efforts are underway till filling of this report to evacuate other injured from the rubble.

14-year-old girl brutally murdered after being raped in Lahore

Punjab News A 14-year-old girl was allegedly murdered after being raped by some unidentified men in Rehmat Town, area of Manawan in Lahore, said police on Saturday. According to sources, the family of the deceased tried to bury her body without bringing the incident into notice of police.  However, police reached at the scene and transferred the dead body to hospital for autopsy.Police said the girl was strangled to death and torture marks were clearly visible on her neck. Metro train service, the Orange Line starts operation for public

Punjab News The Orange Line Metro train service started its operation for public today (Monday) in Lahore.  According to details, the citizens have started traveling in the train and they are happy with this facility of the government and say that the fare of the Orange Line train is reasonable. According to sources, a China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC)'s project named Orange Line Metro Train (OLMT) has been completed after five years and it will become operational for masses.  The train will run from 07:30 am to 08:30 pm. Installations and decorations at all 26 stations along 27.1 KM-long track have also been completed while automatic machines have been installed at the stations to check and recharge card balance. Ticket boxes are made for those who do not possess cards, sources informed, adding that its fare of the Orange Line has been fixed at Rs 40.
