Jhang: Five-month-old baby dies in roof collapse

A minor child was dead when roof of a dilapidated house collapsed in Jhang, Punjab province on late Monday night. 

According to details, the incident occurred in Jhang where roof of a dilapidated house caved in due to recent showers, burying five members of a same family, including a five-month-old child under the debris.

Rescue teams rushed to the spot after being informed and retrieved the dead body of minor child from the rubble and pulled out four others in injured condition.

The dead and injured were moved to hospital. 

Earlier, on June 10, at least 16 people injured when roof of NADRA office collapsed in Mian Channu on Wednesday.

According to details, the incident occurred in Mian Channu where roof of a National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office caved in, burying 16 people under the debris.

Sources informed that a large number of people were present in NADRA office when roof collapsed.

After being informed, rescue teams reached the spot and pulled out 10 people in injured condition who were later moved to hospital for medical aid. 

Rescue efforts are underway till filling of this report to evacuate other injured from the rubble.

Buzdar hints at reopening tourist spots

Punjab News Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Friday hinted at opening of tourist spot, including Murree. According to sources, CM Buzdar also informed that the precautionary measures set by the government are being finalized for reopening tourist spots, restuarants and hotels. Punjab CM also announced new projects for Murree including Kohsar University. He said 22 crore rupees will be used on a water scheme which will provide 6 lac gallons of water to locals. Minor girl killed by kite string in Lahore

Punjab News A minor girl was killed when a kite string slit her throat in Sanda area of Lahore on Sunday. According to details, six-year-old Hareem Fatima was going with her father on motorcycle to Shahdara from Township when a kite string struck her and slit her throat due to which she died on the spot without getting any medical aid. CM Punjab Usman Buzdar took notice of the incident and asked CCPO to submit report in this regard. CM Buzdar also instructed police to investigate the matter and arrest the suspects. Buzdar expressed grief over death of minor girl. Kite flying has been banned in Punjab for several years owing to the casualties its string causes.
